Copy and Paste Objects

It’s always annoyed me that I couldn’t copy objects from one instance of max and paste them into another — as I work with 2 or 3 instances of max up at a time. It’s tedious to do a save selected / merge objects so this script does it for you. It’s not a TRUE copy/paste via the windows clipboard — but it will let you very quickly copy objects from one file to another.

09-02-03 Update: just updated contact info in script header and changed version requirement to reflect current versions of 3ds max.

Usage:
Select the objects you want to copy. Run ‘copy script’ (I assign mine to Ctrl+Shift+C). Now run the ‘paste script’ (I assign mine to Ctrl+Shift+V) into either the same file or you can load another instance of max and ‘paste’ the objects into it.

Installation:
1. Click Maxscript / Run Script and choose wherever you downloaded this file to
1a. It will seem like nothing happened but that’s exactly what it should do — you now need to assign a shortcut to it
2. Click Customize / Customize User Interface / Keyboard (tab)
3. Change the Category to ‘CG_Tools’
4. Click ‘Copy Objects to File’ and change its Hotkey to something — maybe Ctrl+Shift+C .Click Assign
5. Click ‘Paste Objects from File’ and change its Hotkey to something — maybe Ctrl+Shift+V. Click Assign
6. Click Save and save your custom UI settings to a file — do yourself a favor and don’t use the default.
7. That’s it.

Речь идет о скрипте Copy Paste Objects. Многие возможно о нем знаю. Но тем не менее, не все)).

Принцип скрипта прост. Скопировал и вставил как в Windows. В отличии от скрипта «Copitor», у него нет окна интерфейса.

Теперь пару слов о том как он устанавливается и работает. Запускаем сам скрипт. Scripting — Run Script.

Далее, в окошке указываем папку с скриптом и запускаем его.

После мы его настраиваем. Нажимаем Customize — Customize User Interface

Далее во вкладке Keyboard, в свитке Category выбираем CG_Tools

Далее нам нужно присвоить клавиши для функции Копировать.
Вы можете поставить свои клавиши. После чего нажимаем Assign

И для Функции Вставить. После так же нажимаем Assign.

После того как мы указали наши клавиши, нужно сохранить это в
отдельный файл, делается это для того что бы при запуске 3D Max по
новой, кнопки не слетели и их не нужно было настраивать заново.
Сохранить и подписывать можно по своему =)

После этого все готово. Можно пользоваться.

P.S У скрипта есть один минус. Но он появляется крайне редко. Он может не сработать.

Решение есть: Создайте простой примитив (Например сфера или бокс) и скопируйте ваш объект вместе с этим примитивом.

Windows Script — create script to copy a file and paste in a new network location

I want to create a script that essentially runs on a daily basis which copies a file from one network location and pastes into another network location.

Could somebody please advise?

You could use a Windows Batch file that is called nightly from Task Scheduler. The Copy command is what I use most.

You would schedule the task and place the batch file on the same server. Either server will work for running the command as long as the user set to run the batch has the proper permissions on both servers.

Try something like this:

I would suggest using xcopy any time you are copying to or from a network location. This helps make sure files in use are still copied and will save you from errors associated with such behavior.

Also adding in the echos for date/time/start and the >> batch.log create a log file that you can search for errors through and know when they happened.

I personally add in the «net use /delete /Y» each time before I set up a network location. In my experience that helps avoid errors dealing with too many resources being used by the same user. Also it is just a cleaner way of doing it.

Eric S’s suggestion to use Task Scheduler is a good one. Make sure you set it as such:

How to Copy and Paste in Command Prompt on Windows 7/10

Usually, we enter commands manually in the Command Prompt on Windows 10/8/7. In fact, you can directly copy and paste text in Command Prompt if you want, which will save your time. Now, this post will show you how to copy and paste in Command Prompt on Windows 7/10.

Part 1: How to copy and paste in Windows 7 Command Prompt

By default, you cannot select or copy and paste text in the Command Prompt (or CMD) in Windows 7, before you enable its QuickEdit mode.

Step 1: Enable QuickEdit mode in Command Prompt

1) Open a Command Prompt (or CMD) window.

2) Right-click on the window’s title bar, and select Properties from the menu.

3) In the Properties dialog, select the Options tab, then check the QuickEdit Mode option under Edit Options, and click OK.

Step 2: How to copy and paste in Windows 7 Command Prompt

1) Select to highlight any text in the CMD window, using your left mouse button.

2) Press your right mouse button, or press the Enter key on your keyboard, or right click on the CMD window’s title bar and select Edit > Copy, so that the selected text can be copied.

3) Right-click in the command prompt window or right click on the window’s title bar and select Edit > Paste so that the selected text can be pasted onto your mouse cursor’s location in the CMD window. If you want to paste the selected text from the CMD window to another program or location, use Ctrl + V keyboard shortcuts.

4) Copy any text from another program or location, then right click in the Command Prompt window, or right click on the window’s title bar and select Edit > Paste, to paste the selected text onto the CMD window.

Part 2: How to copy and paste in Command Prompt on Windows 10

By default, you can freely select text or use Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to copy and paste text in the Command Prompt (or CMD) of Windows 10. But if this feature is disabled by someone, you can enable it.

Step 1: Open a Command Prompt (or CMD) window.

Step 2: Right-click on the window’s title bar, and select Properties.

Step 3: In the Properties dialog, select the Options tab, uncheck Use legacy console (requires relaunch), keep the options under Edit Options and Text Selection checked, and then click OK.

Step 4: Close the current command prompt window, and relaunch the Command Prompt for the changes to take effect.

So, you can freely use the Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to copy and paste text in a Command Prompt window, or between multiple CMD windows, or between a Command Prompt window and other programs.
