Как восстановить письма в Windows Live Mail 2011
Зачем-то настроила учетную запись в Windows Live, он скачал всю почту за 10 лет,
винчестер чуть не умер. Потом выяснилось, что на сервере не осталось ни одного письма. Попыталась восстановить их на сервер, не получилось,
решила удалить учетную запись, чтобы письма не скачивались с сервера, и ВСЕ письма удалились из Windows Live.
Пожалуйста, помогите восстановить почту.

Спасибо за обращение на форумы Microsoft Community! Нам очень жаль, что у Вас возникли проблемы с восстановлением удаленных сообщений в приложении Почта Windows Live.
Все Ваши сообщения электронной почты должны сохраняться в расположении
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail затем откройте папку с именем Вашей учётной записи и проверьте все находящиеся в данной папке подпапки. Сообщения должны быть здесь. Если Вы смогли найти сообщения, то импортируйте их обратно в приложении Почта Windows Live. Информацию о том, как это можно сделать Вы сможете найти в статье Как импортировать и экспортировать электронную почту, контакты и календари при помощи «Почты Windows Live»?.
Если сообщений нет в указанном расположении, то проверьте корзину ПК и, если они в корзине, то восстановите их и затем выполните ранее предложенные инструкции.
Хочу отметить, что если Вы настроили в приложении Почта Windows Live учётную запись Outlook.com, то, по умолчанию, копии всех сообщений при настройке доступа через протокол РОР3 будут перемещаться в специальную папку РОР на сервере.

Windows Live Mail — Storage Files -Recovery
I would appreciate help/advice on how to solve problems I have with Windows Live Mail [Windows 10], in relation to Storage Files.
I have set out below an account of what happened and would like to ask the following questions:
Q1: Why do Storage folders disappear from the WLM display screen?
Q2: Possible causes of the WLM failure that led to creation of “recovery item” folder?
Q3: Is there any “user control” of the methodology of the subfolder structure of the Storage Folders on the C:Drive ?
Q4: Is it possible to permanently delete the subfolders within Storage Folders, that do not contain any files, of which there are over 100. If so does one delete from the C:drive and/or in WLM.?
Any help/advice would be welcome.
Following successfully sending an e-mail, I got an error message that the WLM program had failed and was being restored (+/or recovered). All the folders had disappeared, but the “website folders” were then downloaded from my mail service provider (Gmail).
However, my own storage folders within WLM were not restored.
As I had previously experienced the loss of just my storage folders (reasons unknown), I imported them from my C:Drive\Users\”user» \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Storage Folders.
The Storage Folder was dated 23/12/15, 16.02hrs.
My email history had been accumulated over several years using various e-mail “management programs” on different computers and Windows operating systems. My folders were held on the C:Drive in several system generated subfolders, and any folder I had renamed was still held under the original folder name and appears to be located in its original subfolder.
As I had done previously, I started “rearranging” my folders on WLM into the logical sequence I wished to maintain, rather than the structure adopted for the subfolders on the C:Drive.
During this process I noticed that several folders listed the emails but the individual e-mails had the message that “the contents of this message cannot be found”.
I checked the Storage Folders on the C:drive, where I was alarmed to discover that the Storage Folders now contained two “Recovered items” Subfolders.

Whilst examining these folders on the C:Drive and WLM, I noticed that the folders from the later recovery operation (2) were being uploaded to WLM. Each folder was followed by a number that identified all items as unread. I also established that the “the contents of this message cannot be found” items came from the 16:02.02 Recovery folder.
The message content was available in the 16:46:25 Recovery folder. I believe the increase in the file number was the result of my attempts to overcome both the impact of renaming folders and the Subfolder structure.
I had been copying the emails to brand new folder(s) with different name, rather than moving the folder to a new location on the WLM folder list. After copying, I deleted the original folder +/or its contents, which effectively created duplicates in a Deleted Items subfolder, which I intended to delete permanently at the end of the exercise.
Since writing the foregoing I found two articles on this website, that may be relevant.
Firstly:

Step 2: Repair the Windows Live.
There might be corrupted files in Windows Live Mail. Follow the below steps to repair.
1. In the folder pane, locate C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Installer there is a repair utility.
2. Run wlarp.exe file.
3. Click Repair all Windows Live program.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to repair Windows Live program.

The first answer from ¡ Firedog , provided a very helpful explanation of what actually happens when “rearranging the filing cabinet” and this is best done off-line!

Kindly check the path below to verify if the emails that you’re tyring to open are still available on this location.
C:\Users\ \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Storage folders
The AppData folder is usuallly a hidden folder. In order to view it, kindly refer to the steps below:
1. Click on the Organize tab located at the upper left part.
2. Select Folder and search option. A new dialog box will appear.
3. Click on View tab and under the Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files, folders and drives.
4. Click Apply and then OK.
To restore data in Live Mail by using the import feature, follow these steps:
1. Start Windows Live Mail.
2. On the File menu, click Import, and then click Messages and accounts.
3. Select Windows Live Mail as the import format, and then click Next.
4. Click Browse, select the folder to which you exported the messages, and then click Next. You can choose to import all the folders or only specific folders.
5. Click Next. You will receive a message that states that the messages were imported in Windows Live Mail format.
6. Click Finish.

4. Click Browse, select the folder to which you exported the messages, and then click Next. You can choose to import all the folders or only specific folders.
There is no question of exported messages or folders here, so it’s difficult to understand what you’re suggesting. Windows Live Mail’s folders are simply a proprietary view of the folders in the store folder (the one you assume is C:\Users\ \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail even though its location is user-configurable) , so importing from that folder will simply lead to duplication of all the messages.

Sorry for the delay in responding, but have not had much spare time at home over the Christmas period.
First of all, both of you have confused me a bit, by your reference to “EXPORTING” the Storage Folders to the Computer – as I have never exported my email folders from WLM.
It was only in early November, when only the Storage Folders disappeared from the WLM display, that I discovered where these folders were held, and was able to reinstate them on WLM. I had not experienced a WLM failure until last week on 23 December.
The Storage Folders are held in the default location on the hard drive and the files are not hidden.
As I explained in my original message, after the initial failure of WLM and the ensuing automatic recovery process of creating a “recovery items” folder of all my own mail folders, WLM restarted and the “IMAP” folders were downloaded from my Gmail website account. I then successfully imported the Storage Folders from the C:drive and proceeded with “re-arranging” the Folders on WLM, when I noticed that the contents of some emails were not being displayed.
Whilst investigating this, I found that the C:D rive Storage Folders now contained a second “Recovered Items” Subfolder which had been created at 16:46 some 44 minutes after the first “Recovered Items” Subfolder [when WLM had failed]
This second “recovery” obviously occurred whilst I was “re-arranging” the Folders on WLM**, but there had been no error message or disappearance of the folders from the WLM display screen. ** Reading other articles, doing this re-arranging action online perhaps caused the second recovery situation.
The next step was that I noticed that the folders from the second recovery operation (16:46) were being uploaded to WLM. Each folder was followed by a bracketed number, which indicated that the messages were unread.
I also established that this second “Recovered Items” Subfolder (16:46) contained all the message contents.
Whilst I would like to fully understand what caused the automatic creation of the second “Recovered Items” Subfolder at 16:46, and the subsequent automatic uploading of this subfolder onto WLM, I think I need to consider how to proceed and get the WLM folders back to how it was before the second recovery action at 16.46 December 23.
I have not deleted or moved any emails to a storage folder, since that point.
Would you agree that the following steps will achieve this objective?
1. Switch to Work Offline:
2. On the C:Drive, create a “back-up” Copy of the Storage Files Folder at a different location.
3. On WLM
Delete the user generated subfolders (and contents) within the “Recovered Items“ Subfolder (16.02)
4. Delete the content of the Deleted Items folder containing the items deleted in 2. ( ie: permanently delete)
5. Check WLM Storage folders contain only those held in “Recovered Items” Subfolder (16:46).
6. Check the C:Drive Storage files to verify that size of “Recovered Items” Subfolder (16:46) is unchanged
7. Switch to Work Online.
8. In the event of a future need to import the Storage Folders from the C:Drive, I will import by selecting the specific folders, that I have identified as containing the required emails.
Final Question. Can I safely delete from the C:Drive the system generated folders that no longer hold any messages?

1. Restore the previous version
- Open File Explorer and navigate to the following location:

- Scroll down and locate the Windows Live Mail folder.
- Right-click on the Windows Live Mail folder and select Restore Previous Version. This will Windows Live Mail properties window.
- In the Previous Versions tab, click the Restore button.

- Make sure you live the computer idle during the process.

2. Restore folders using Compact View
- Start the Windows Live Mail client.
- Click on View in the taskbar.
- Select Compact View. This will collapse all the Windows Live Mail folders listed, and a green sign in the shape of a plus will appear under them.
- Click on the green plus icon. This will open a new window, and you should see all of the Windows Live Mail folders including the deleted ones.
- Check the folders you want to restore and click on OK.
- Once the folders have been imported, click on View.
- Select the Compact View option again.
- Now you should see all the recovered email folders.
- Check your email account to see if the emails are restored.
3. Use the Import feature
- Press Windows Key + R to open Run.
- Type %appdata% and click OK. This will open the Local Data folder.
- Once there, navigate to the following location:

AppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindows Live Mail - Your Live Mail account folder should be in one of these directories.
- Copy everything and create a new folder on Desktop. Rename the new folder as Back-Up Live Mail.
- Open Windows Live Mail.

- Click on Browse and navigate to the folder in which your backup is stored.
- Click the backup file and click Next.
- Click on Next again.
