Windows Expert Tool represents a collection of freeware password recovery utilities from developer Nir Sofer, designed to instantly identify and save to file all passwords and product keys stored within the operating system.

It can be operated from a console window and has straightforward options for all types of users, even the ones without previous experience in password recovery tools.

Recover passwords and product keys from Windows

Before proceeding any further, you should know that it might trigger malware alerts in certain antivirus solutions. However, these are false positives. Installation is not required so you can extract the executable file from the downloaded package and simply double-click it to reach the console UI. You must have administrative rights, though, or it won’t work.

The small window shows all options provided by the application, including two distinct settings for retrieving keys in x86 and x64 Windows. Simply type the letter corresponding to the desired action and hit «Enter».

Once the operation is over, Windows Expert Tool tells you that the passwords and product keys were saved in a newly created folder, which can be accessed after returning to the main window of the console. This data is kept in plain text documents inside the local temporary folder, so you can check out dialup, email, logon, messenger, product key, and wireless passwords. Even if no passwords are found, the text documents are created and left empty.

Taking everything into account, Windows Expert Tool offers a straightforward solution for easily recovering passwords from a console window. It doesn’t require configuration or installation and gets the job done quickly, without error.
