Windows Installer Coordinator install phase may loop or hang

Problem
Symptom
The installation package will be executed successfully and begin the installation processes of the features selected for install, however right before the install completes the Windows Installer Coordinator window will appear hung and stop the progression of that installation as illustrated below:

Environment
Resolving The Problem
Login as either Domain administrator or local administrator, run GPEDIT.MSC from cmd.exe running as Administrator.
After, navigate to the below group policy directory tree:
Local Computer Policy (MMC + Group Policy ObjectEditor)\Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Application Compatibility
Turn off Windows Installer RDS Compatibility
This may require changes in group policies by a domain administrator if your environment has enforced group policies that are propagated from the domain controller.
