WeChat мессенджер уже давно доступен для персональных компьютеров линейки Apple. Наравне с WhatsApp приложение позволяет отправлять бесплатные мгновенные сообщения, организовывать чаты или группы обмена информацией и имеет множество собственных «фишек».

Достоинства WeChat

Мессенджер Вичат имеет массу различных дополнительных функций, которые не реализованы в приложениях конкурентов или работают не совсем так как хотелось бы:

В программе реализована функция геолокации. Это позволило разработчикам добавить возможность определения положения друзей и родственников на карте, поиска собеседников «поблизости», а также создать уникальный способ знакомства — «Встряска». Естественно, что данная функция не доступна для десктопной Mac OS версии.
Моменты Вичат позволяют ярко и красочно оформить некое событие или просто удачную фотографию пользователя. Приложение предлагает достойный арсенал фотофильтров и другие опции редактирования картинки. Делиться впечатлениями можно как никогда просто и быстро.
Программа доступна не только на мобильных устройствах и ПК, разработаны релизы для «умных» часов. А значит оставаться на связи можно в любое время и где угодно.
Каждый день поплняется коллекция уникальных и бесплатных стикеров WeChat.
Пользователи могут устраивать турниры и просто весело проводить время за мини играми мессенджера.

Конечно, мессенджеры — это приложения для мобильных устройств. Большинство функций разработаны и заточены под смартфоны и планшеты, поэтому просто не будут работать в десктопной версии. Однако, обмениваться большим массивом данных через Вичат удобнее и проще с персонального компьютера.

Загрузить мессенджер на MacOS

Нареканий по работе WeChat на платформе MacOS нет. Программа совместима с операционной системой и доступна для скачивания на Mac App Store.

Загрузить и установить приложение для ПК на платформе от Apple можно, также как и любое другое ПО. Вичат отличается современным и приятным оформлением интерфейса. К сожалению десктопная версия не переведена на русский язык, а для входа и регистрации потребуется любой смартфон и СИМ карта.

При каждом входе в аккаунт пользователь должен провести синхронизацию мобильного устройства и ПК. На экране будет предоставлен QR — код для сканирования смартфоном.

К минусам версии Вичат для MacOS можно отнести отсутствие возможности подтверждать денежные транзакции, для этого также необходимо сканировать штрих.

Why no Moments? Since I have a lot of pictures in Moments and unfortunately with my very limited capacity, I don’t want to clunck up my smartphone to download every pictures. I want to download in Mac as I do a lot of work on my Mac. Please add this function. Thanks.

March 2019:
Now I had a problem with wechat could not be closed everytime I opened any files that were sent to me. I had to force quit everytime.

Group Video Call Defect

Joined group call in macOS wechat application not able to see other participant although camera has been turned on. This issue not doesn’t happen if group call using ios.

Add Moments features

wMoment is a feature that makes WeChat a WeChat but in Mac version, it is lacking of it. Moment is great, pls add this feature to the MacOS version

Lacks key feature

Good tool for communications specially with China. However lacks the Presence feature and Message Delivered, Read function which is key to messaging applications.

Essential App for China

Pros: Has its own bank account and can also be used in numerous ways to pay for items in China through bank transfer to individuls, groups, and businesses. It’s highly unlikely to find a retailer, even a street vendor, who won’t take WeChat payment.
Has simple, but limited capacity transfer for videos (currently set at 5 minute duration), IP telephony and video, chat functions, «moments’ (which are highlights shared with all friends) and translation through multiple languages. It also integrates with other Chinese apps such as DiDi Taxi which will update chosen recipients of your current taxi service.
The desktop version can only be accessed when authorisd by the phone app. The phone app is where all payments are made.

Totally indispensible in China.

Cons: Centrally distributed and available for Chinese government inspection. However, at least this is acknowledged by the government. How is it with FB and Google these days 😉

Seems like a basic thing

Moments publisher is absent. It is interesting at the outset, but given the benefit of doubt, there is much to discover though seemingly not in here. Chat user-to-user. There is announcement of limited online media storage, something like a couple of GBs — startling. Their platforms are known to perform data tracking, and report user activity to a centralised monitoring agency.
