Gtk тема из дисрибутива Kali Linux (Gnome-Shell, Gtk-3, XFCE)

Если вы знакомы с дистрибутивом Kali Linux, то наверняка работая с ним, замечали тот факт, что используется своя собственная кастомная тема, которая так и называется – Kali-Dark (Темная тема) и Kali-Light (Светлая тема). Данную тему можно применить на дистрибутивах с рабочим столом Gnome или XFCE, второй кстати в Kali Linux идет по умолчанию. Оформления довольно интересное, особенно это заметно в Gnome, где на верхней части панели приложений вырисовывается символ Kali Linux – Дракон. Так же для комплекта выложу по мимо самой темы и иконки, которые используются по умолчанию в этом замечательном дистрибутиве. Когда распакуете архив, переместите эти папки в директорию ваших тем, обычно она находится в домашней директории вашего пользователя и називается “.themes”. Покажу на скриншотах как данная тема будет выглядеть в Ubuntu 20.04:

Делаем Linux терминал красивым и удобным

Добавляем функциональность

Командная оболочка

Большинство дистрибутивов поставляется со встроенным Bash. Используя дополнения можно сделать из него все что захотите, но гораздо проще этого добиться с Zsh. Почему?

Настройка Zsh

Для начала, установим Zsh (если он уже установлен, например, как в Manjaro, можете пропустить этот пункт):

Когда вам предложат установить Zsh как оболочка по-умолчанию, нажмите Y , чтоб подтвердить.

Oh-My-Zsh — популярный и активно развивающийся фреймворк Zsh, который позволяет гибко настроить оболочку терминала. Установим его:

Подсветка синтаксиса. Гораздо проще ориентироваться по содержимому терминала, когда разные части команд подсвечены разными цветами. Например, директории будут подчеркиваться, а команды — выделяться цветом, отличным от обычного текста. Установим плагин zsh-syntax-highlighting :

Чтоб плагин заработал, его надо подключить.

/.zshrc меняем строку с plugins= :

Если такой строки нет — добавьте её.

Готово! Получаем удобный и функциональный терминал. Теперь сделаем его визуально приятным.

Настраиваем внешний вид

Скачиваем и добавляем в систему шрифт JetBrains Mono Nerd (c иконками):
Выберитеодин из списка, в папке шрифт/complete выберите шрифт без «Windows Compatible», с окончанием «Mono».

Подключаем шрифт и тему.

Если в файле эти строки уже есть — замените их.

Цвета. Важная часть оформления терминала — цветовая схема. Я перебрал много разных схем, редактировал их, остановился на Monokai Dark. Не режет глаза, но при этом приятная и яркая. Список цветов:

В разных терминалах по-разному меняется цветовая схема (обычно, это делается через настройки терминала), но порядок цветов везде одинаковый. Вы можете импортировать этот шаблон в формате Termite и экспортировать его для вашего терминала через terminal.sexy

Запускаем конфигурацию темы: p10k configure .
Настройте тему, выбирая варианты отображения, которые вам больше нравятся.

Финальный штрих — меняем конфиг темы и заменяем встроенные цвета.

Если в файле эти строки уже есть — замените их. Коды цветов можно получить командой

Change Install Theme in Kali Linux – GTK 3 themes

Kali Linux default GNOME Theme is very boring and plain. The reason it is like that is because Kali Linux Dev team wanted to make a fast and reliable environment so that you can boot your system quickly and ge to work. But work (or hacking?) is just part of it. Like you, I sometimes get bored looking into the same old desktop over and over again and feel like having a new desktop or change color here and there. If you have a decent enough graphics card and processor (and RAM??) you might want to change or install theme in Kali Linux (this guide applies to any Kali version, so don’t worry which version you have). As Kali uses GNOME3 (GDM) Window Manager, so we will stick with GTK3 themes. The whole process takes only a few minutes and by the end of that, you should be able to:

1. Install theme in Kali Linux
2. Change default theme in Kali Linux
3. Most importantly, roll back your changes and get same old Desktop back.

I’m a big fan of being able to roll back my changes so that if I mess up things, at least I will know where to go back and how to roll back. This saves a lot of trouble for later usage. Some themes are poorly made and throws errors all over my terminal. In that case, rolling back and using a different theme is the best idea. At the same time, I prefer to remove that erroneous theme or clean up theme directory. I guess that’s sound good, so let’s get on with it.

Before we start, there’s two different ways you can change theme.

1. Manually install theme
2. Install theme via PPA repository.

I will show both because both got their own merits and the only way you learn enough is by trying every possible corners on anything.

Choice A: Manually install theme

A lot of people wants to manually install theme and there’s nothing wrong with it. Takes a few more minutes, but in this way you learn how theme works in Linux rather than just blindly typing in few commands and install themes.

Step A.1: Install gnome-tweak-tool in Kali Linux

To install themes manually, we need to install a tool called Gnome Tweak Tool . But before you do that, please ensure you have the correct Kali Repositories added. You can follow my guide on adding official repositories in Kali Linux.

At this point I would assume you have the correct repositories added. So just type in the following command to install gnome-tweak-tool.

Step A.2: Open Gnome Tweak Tool

You can now go to Applications > System Tools > Preferences > Advanced Settings and select Theme TAB to inspect the current settings.

STOP : At this point I would like to take a screenshot of GNOME Tweak Tool. The reason I want it because I want to keep a copy of existing settings so that if I want, I can re-select the same settings to roll back my changes.

See the Tab Window Theme, Theme Icon and GTK + Theme I still use (the default) as my default settings.

Kali rolling comes with a great customized interface with awesome icons and graphics, but time comes you’ll get bored after a long time. So I’m writing this tutorial to show you how you can install themes in Kali Linux.We’ll gonna wrap this tutorial in simple easy steps.

1. Arc Red GTK & shell theme

A red variation of Horst3180’s Arc Theme.

Requirements

Gnome/GTK 3.14, 3.16, 3.18 or 3.20
The gnome-themes-standard package
The murrine engine. This has different names depending on your distro.
gtk-engine-murrine (Arch Linux)
gtk2-engines-murrine (Debian, Ubuntu, elementary OS)
gtk-murrine-engine (Fedora)
gtk2-engine-murrine (openSUSE)
gtk-engines-murrine (Gentoo)
Main distributions that meet these requirements are

Arch Linux and Arch Linux based distros
Ubuntu 15.04, 15.10 and 16.04 (Ubuntu 14.04 and 14.10 are not supported)
elementary OS Freya
Debian 8, Testing or Unstable
Gentoo
Fedora 21 – 24
openSUSE 13.2, Leap 42.1 and Tumbleweed
Derivatives of these distributions should work, as well.

How To Install:

1a-. Extract to /usr/share/themes
or

/.themes (create it (in your home folder) if necessary);

2. Alternatively click on the install button next to the theme
(follow instructions by clicking the question mark next to the install button)

3. Change via distribution specific tweak tool.

Firefox Theme

There are firefox-themes available for the Arc themes:

Chrome/Chromium theme

To install the Chrome/Chromium theme go to the Extra folder and drag and drop the arc-theme.crx or arc-dark-theme.crx or arc-darker-theme.crx file into the Chrome/Chromium window. The source of the Chrome themes is located in the source folder “OSX-Arc-White > Extra folder > arc-theme.crx

Install Plank theme

To install the Plank theme, copy the extra/Arc-Plank folder to

/.local/share/plank/themes or to /usr/share/plank/themes for system-wide use. Now open the Plank preferences window by executing plank –preferences from a terminal and select Arc-Plank as the theme.

Wallpapers

Wallpapers are included in the the extra folder in the OSX Arc White folder there are a few selected wallpapers including the one displayed in the screen shots.

This is a gnome-desktop-interpretation of Mac OSX. I’ve tried to implement the feel of OSX on the gnome-applications.

Initially based on the Arc-theme-files.

I’ve spend a great deal of time and effort on this theme into fine-tuning it, so I hope you try before you judge !

Main features:

– Nautilus with blurred sidebar.
– Same theming across GTK2 and GTK3. (See screenshots)

Separate download for Shell-themes:

– Shell theme with white dock and slighty dark top-bar
– Shell theme with dark dock and dark top-bar

This theme is developed on gnome 3.20 and updated to 3.24
This only works on a gnome-desktop, no support for other desktop-environments.

When, as such, theming does not look the way it should be: make sure you have installed the necessary theme-“engines”:

– The gnome-themes-standard package,
– The murrine engine. This has different names depending on your distro.

How to install:

Just copy the extracted file to a ‘.themes’-folder you make in your home directory.
Then use Tweak-tool to select the GTK and shell theme.
LOG OUT AND BACK IN for changes to take effect !

To put the buttons to the left open a terminal:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences button-layout “close,minimize,maximize:”

To put the buttons back to the right in case you want to revert:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences button-layout “:minimize,maximize,close”

4. Ultra-Flat

This is my interpretation of the total flat desktop.
It is a slightly modified version of the famous Numix theme, with no border, flat rounded window buttons and grey selection colour.

Only tested under Ubuntu. Sorry, I don’t have much time to improve it

The icon theme is a heavily modified version of Flattr icon theme.

5. reNIX (for Unity and GS)

Finally updated to GTK 3.6! Thanks to strycore, who has done it possible and now he is fixing minor issues.

reNIX is a squared variation of the unity and metacity themes GTKdroid and Nööp packaged with a tweaked version of GTK3 theme NIX.
