1. Let’s re-register shdoclc.dll and then check for the issue.
Click Start => Run (Click Start, type ‘Run’ in the search box), type in regsvr32 shdoclc.dll, Press Enter.

2. I suggest you to add the websites with which you have a problem in accessing to the trusted site list. Here are the steps below to add the websites to the trusted site list.

a. Open Internet Explorer.
b. Click on Tools, select Internet Options.
c. Click on the Security Tab.
d. Select the Trusted Site option.
e. Click on Sites. You can add the sites to the zone and all the websites in this zone will use the zone’s security settings.
f. Click on Ok.

3. If the issue still persists, run Internet Explorer 8 in ‘No Add-Ons’ mode:
a. Click Start, and then type Internet Explorer in the Start Search box.
b. Click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). Internet Explorer 8 opens without add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins.

If the issue no longer occurs in no add-ons mode we will need to determine what needs to be done to identify the add-on that’s causing the issue by using the ‘Manage Add-ons tool in Internet Explorer 8:

1. Open Internet Explorer 8.

2. Click Tools, point to Manage Add-ons, and then click Enable or Disable Add-ons.

3. In the Show box, select Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer to display all add-ons that are installed on the computer.

4. For each item in this list, select the add-on, and then click Disable under Settings.

5. When you have disabled all the items in this list, click OK.

6. Exit and then restart Internet Explorer 8.

7. If issues do not occur, repeat steps 1 through 3.

8. Click Enable for a single add-on

9. Repeat steps 6 through 8 until you determine which add-on causes errors to occur.

After you have used this process to determine which add-on is causing errors, you can disable that add-on. Or, you can uninstall the software that installs the add-on. We also recommend that you contact the software vendor that provided the add-on for additional troubleshooting and support.

4. You might have to make a small editing in Registry if you still come across the issue:

a. Click on Start, type Registry Editor.

b. On the Registry Editor window, navigate to the following key:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main, look for the key Default_Page_URL on the right side and delete it.
