Install PdaNet for Android Mac client 5.24 from Mac App Store macOS 10.15 — 11.0 (Catalina and BigSur).

* Make sure Android side is updated to build 5.23.2 or later!!

* WiFi direct mode only!

* During installation you will be prompted to open «System Preferences», please select «Allow» then «OK» (instead of «Restart») and back to the installer.

Note: If you have installed PdaNet before or if you have just upgraded Mac OS, please open Terminal (under Applications->Utilities) and run

/PdaNetUninstall.sh then reboot first.

The current version supports Mac OS X 10.5 or above, both 32 bit and 64 bit. It does not work on older hardwares like the PowerBook or iMac. Here are the setup instructions:

1. Download and run the installer on Mac. At the end of the installation you will be asked to reboot your Mac. After rebooting you should see the PdaNet icon on the menu bar. (figure 1)

2. During installation PdaNet will add an ethernet interface («en2» in most cases) to your network list. If the network preferences window pops up, just selected «Apply» with the default DHCP settings. If it doesn’t, please bring up network perferences manually to make sure it uses DHCP. (figure 2)

3. On your phone go to Settings->Applications->Development and check «USB Debugging» (figure 3).

4. Now you need to add PdaNet to your phone side. On the Mac click on the PdaNet menu bar icon and select «Install PdaNet to Phone» then wait for it to complete. After this launch PdaNet on the phone and enable USB Tether.

5. Now when you connect your phone to the computer, you should see the menu icon changes state, click on it to connect. When the icon stops blicking and turns blue, your computer should be online.

6. If the PdaNet menu bar icon does not stop blicking when you connect PdaNet, you will need to manully add the new network interface: open Network Preference on Mac and select «+», then add the «en» interface with the highest number.

Network traffics on the Mac will go through PdaNet only if your system does not have other connectivities.

Установите PdaNetA216.exe подключив андроид устройство к ПК
PdaNetA216.exe ( 3,37 МБ )

Замените PdaNetPC.exe из установленной директории на этот предварительно переименовав
PdaNetPC_kfc.exe ( 208 КБ )

Запустите PdaNet ,нажмите регистрация ,введите любое мыло и серийник.
Запустите клиент на андроиде и нажмите на ПК коннект

Use your Android phone as a modem

Trying to find a WiFi hotspot to connect your laptop or netbook can be quite a mission at times. With PdaNet though, you can ensure you can always get your computer connected — using your Android phone.

PdaNet lets you tether your computer to your phone’s Internet connection using your USB cable, and it’s really simple to set up. You just need to download and install the desktop client on your Mac then follow the on-screen instructions. You may have to download driver software PdaNet doesn’t recognize your device.

Once you’re done, install the PdaNet mobile client on your Android. Then, connect your Android phone using the USB cable, and your computer should pick up the data connection from your phone and be able to piggyback on that. An icon will appear in your System Tray informing you of the connection status. From here you can alter the settings in PdaNet, which include auto-connecting when the cable is attached, showing network icon when connected, and using Google DNS.

I should point out that tethering your phone’s connection in the way that PdaNet permits is frowned upon by many network operators. So, if you have a contract then you should really check the terms and conditions of service before proceeding to use the app so you can avoid getting into any hot water with your provider.

All in all though, PdaNet offers a simple and reliable way of connecting your computer to the internet using your phone’s connection.

Works well, certain apps keep it from working

Another review noted that, at least on the m1 macs, google chrome keeps it from maintaining it’s connection. However I’ve found that spotify has the exact same effect, so it just seems that certain apps, even or maybe even especially ones optimized for m1, keep the connection from sticking.

I never had this issue with my windows machine, so I don’t know if its just an issue with the app store version or with macos itself. But, when it does work, it works pretty well.

Love This APP. BUT

So ive always been a fan and i do like this app but it would seem there is a slight issue with the M1 Devices losing connection with pdanets vpn ittermittently and was wondering if anybody else is having this problem? BTW im sending this review thru PDANET connection and have a stable connection at the moment after an hour of trouble shooting lets hope it stays :]

UPDATE: so i figured out google CHROME browser clashes with vpn, probably because of an extension i have installed will update if i find out more.

UPDATE 2. Yup uninstalled chrome manually and completely then reinstalled and as soon as i open the browser pdanet vpn losses connection, side note: as long as you quit chrome completely you can re-establish connection JUST DONT USE CHROME while on PDANet

Safari, and most other apps still connect to net though so im giving 5 up from 4 stars on this post cuz its CHROMES fault 😛

Does not work (Macbook 16″)

It says it is supposed to connect you to the internet automatically but I have to enter a password and change the proxy, the app never shows connected. I’m doing the same things I did without the app. I have the USB app too and that doesn’t work either. Never connect. It used to work, but for whatever reason is doesn’t anymore. USB internet is so much faster so seems to be more stable I wish it still worked. It’s the only internet I have right now and it’s too bad the mac apps don’t work right now.

Когда-то функция использования iPhone в режиме USB модема или в роли Wi-Fi точки была моей мечтой. Вокруг было полно Нокий, которые с легкостью умели это делать, а Apple в свою очередь, ну ни как не хотела добавлять этот функционал в iOS. Но, я остался предан своему девайсу, и где-то в сети отыскал решение, которое называлось iModem и стоило 7$. После чего я благополучно получал по USB кабелю доступ в интернет на PC с помощью iPhone.

iModem был очень неудобен в использовании — требовал обязательный ввод настроек прокси-сервера и нормально работал только в Internet Explorer.

Сейчас все намного проще, последние версии iOS включают в себя функции режим модема и персональную точку доступа по умолчанию. Но для большого количества пользователей iPhone 3G и iPhone 3GS со старыми прошивками, мы хотим рассказать о замечательном приложении PdaNet из Cydia от разработчика June Fabrics Tech.

PdaNet — является программой «все в одном» и позволяет использовать iPhone как в режиме модема, так и как Wi-Fi точку.

Для использования iPhone в режиме модема нужно:

1. Скачать и установить программу-клиент для Windows (32 bit или 64 bit) или для Mac OS X 10.5 и выше.
2. Скачать и установить на iPhone приложение PdaNet из репозитория ModMyi ($) или бесплатно в репозитории sinfuliphonerepo.com или здесь.
2.1 Для того чтобы активировать приложение PdaNet, откройте его и нажмите кнопку Register.
2.2 В поле E-mail ввести: pdanet1@pdanet1.com
