С деталями подписки не знаком, но нужно быть готовому к разным сценариям. Лучше внимательнее поискать информацию.

От себя замечу, что компания OTOY раньше не была замечена во всяких подозрительных схемах по вытягиванию денег, как это иногда делают другие компании.

@avre001 просто под мак и оsx мало заточенных программистов и спецов, т.к. раньше они не пользовались таким спросом, по этому и поддержка хромает и сами продукты (из за особенностей архитектуры). Но в данный момент баланс восстанавливается

Почитал, похоже Отой запустил фэйк насчет своего рендера под Big Sur под М1, по крайней мере я не нашел плагина под М1, и люди с форума тоже искали. Саму программу Октан инсталлирую а плагина в ней нет. Некоторые писали в поддержку Отой, но ответа не дождались. Сегодня ребята с форума дали неофициальную версию Короны 7-й версии, которая прекрасно работает под чип М1, скорость рендера поражает, как будто есть поддержка ГПУ, наверно старается М1, так что теперь вопрос с Октаном не актуален, пока.

А как это связано с процессором?

я не нашел плагина под М1, и люди с форума тоже искали.

Его и нету. Октан делают под видеокарты независимо от процессора. Рендерит-то видеокарта (через Metal API).

По ходу я додумал про М1 для Октана. Но про бесплатный Октан написано даже в Apple Store, и дает скачать из этого магазина

И магазин прекрасно знает, что у меня система с чипом М1, и никакого предупреждения нет, что мне не подойдет.
Не я один пытался поставить Октан, на форуме еще пару человек пытались.
