Другой вариант — он может быть попросту не нужен юзеру, так как тот привык и использует =в качестве основного стороннее антивирусное ПО. Чтобы избавиться от Защитника, потребуется воспользоваться или системной утилитой, если удаление будет происходить на компьютере под управлением Виндовс 10, или сторонней программой, в случае использования 7 версии ОС.

Удаление Windows Defender

Удаление Защитника в Виндовс 10 и 7 происходит двумя разными способами. В более современной версии этой операционной системы нам с вами потребуется внести определенные правки в ее реестр, предварительно деактивировав работу антивирусного ПО. А вот в «семерке», напротив, необходимо воспользоваться решением от стороннего разработчика. В обоих случаях процедура не вызывает особых сложностей, в чем вы можете убедиться лично, ознакомившись с нашей инструкцией.

Важно: Удаление интегрированных в систему программных компонентов может повлечь за собой всевозможные ошибки и сбои в работе ОС. Поэтому прежде чем приступить к выполнению описанных ниже действий, следует обязательно создать точку восстановления, к которой можно будет откатиться в случае некорректной работы компьютера. Windows 10

Защитник Windows является стандартной антивирусной программой для «десятки». Но несмотря на тесную интеграцию с операционной системой, его все же можно удалить. Со своей же стороны мы рекомендуем ограничиться обычным отключением, о чем мы ранее рассказывали в отдельной статье. Если же вы решительно настроены избавиться от столь важного программного компонента, выполните следующие действия:

Деактивируйте работу Защитника, воспользовавшись представленной по ссылке выше инструкцией.

Используя область навигации слева, перейдите по представленному ниже пути (как вариант, его можно просто скопировать и вставить в адресную строку «Редактора», после чего нажать «ENTER» для перехода):

Выделите папку «Windows Defender», кликните правой кнопкой мышки в ее пустой области и выберите в контекстном меню пункты «Создать» — «Параметр DWORD (32 бита)».

Назовите новый файл «DisableAntiSpyware» (без кавычек). Для переименования просто выделите его, нажмите клавишу «F2» и вставьте или введите указанное нами наименование.

Перезагрузите компьютер. Защитник Windows будет окончательно удален из операционной системы.

Примечание: В некоторых случаях в папке «Windows Defender» изначально присутствует параметр DWORD (32 бита) с названием DisableAntiSpyware. Все что от вас потребуется для удаления Защитника – изменить его значение с 0 на 1 и перезагрузится.

Windows 7

How to disable Windows Defender in Windows 10

Microsoft has integrated Windows Defender, the anti-malware software, in Windows 10/8/7/Vista, and while it is easy to turn off or disable Windows Defender, it is not possible to uninstall Windows Defender.

If you install any other 3rd-party antivirus software, it will automatically disable itself. If the 3rd-party antivirus stops functioning for some reason, it will automatically activate itself. This is good. Nevertheless, if you feel the need to disable it completely, you may do so via its Settings, Registry, GPEDIT as well as disable its Services.

Disable Windows Defender in Windows 10

You can disable or turn off Windows Defender via:

1. Windows Defender UI
2. Windows Defender Security Center UI
3. Group Policy
4. Windows Services Manager
5. Registry Editor
6. PowerShell
7. Command line
8. Using free tool.

Let us see how to do it.

1] Using Windows Defender Security Center

Windows 10 users have to do this. Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security.

Here make sure Real-time protection and Cloud-based Protection is turned off.

In Windows 10 you will have to open Windows Defender Security Center > Virus & Threat Protection > Virus & Threat Protection settings and toggle the switch against Real-time protection.

2] Using Windows Defender Settings UI

To disable Windows Defender in Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista, open Windows Defender > Tools > Options.

Now uncheck Use Real Time Protection checkbox and also Use Windows Defender under Administrative Options check box. Click on Save.

There is one more thing all Windows users can do.

3] Disable Windows Defender Service using Service Manager

Type services.msc in taskbar search bar and hit Enter to open Services Manager. Change the startup type of the Windows Defender Service from Automatic to Disabled. Also, disable the WdNisSvc or Windows Defender Network Inspection Service.

4] Using Registry Editor

UPDATE: It appears that Microsoft has disabled this DisableAntiSpyware Registry key and so this may not work now.

Run regedit and navigate to the following key:

Set the value of DWORD called DisableAntiSpyware to 1 to disable Windows Defender.

5] Using Group Policy Editor

If your Windows has Group Policy Editor, Run gpedit.msc and navigate to and Enable the following setting:

Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender > Turn off Windows Defender.

If you enable this policy setting, Windows Defender does not run, and computers are not scanned for malware or other potentially unwanted software. If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, by default Windows Defender runs and computers are scanned for malware and other potentially unwanted software.

Reboot your computer.

6] Using PowerShell command

Use the following Powershell command to disable Windows Defender:

Defender Control is a freeware that lets you disable Windows Defender permanently on Windows 10.

Uninstall Windows Defender

Though I have not tried this personally, there is one way being recommended on the internet. It is said to have worked, for some. This was known to work in Windows XP – but not in Windows 7 and later. Create a system restore point and the Run the following from an elevated command prompt:

I must add that I do not advise trying to uninstall Windows Defender, as uninstalling/deleting Windows Defender in Windows is known to cause other irritants later on since it is well-integrated with the OS.

You can’t uninstall Defender. It’s built in.

What’s the problem with it?

You’ll get best performance from Windows by using Defender. All of the others cause issues.

Defender is not made to be uninstalled. If you install another security program, that will disable real-time scanning by defender which should make it a non-issue.

What is your interest in wanting to remove it?

I’ve used WinAero Tweaker with no problems

In theory, you should be able to install a 3rd party AntiMalware tool. Then Windows is supposed to stop defender. In theory.

I have Windows 8.1. I have had this computer for a couple years and this is the first time I have gotten the popup window of Recent Windows Defender Summary. I have been running Malwarebytes for many years and have never had this happen. I can’t remove it and it is blocking my screen and ability to do certain things. It is blocking my search window and my shut down choices.

I cannot move it to get to that part of the screen. I did a push the button shut down to hopefully clear it and when I restarted it was still there. It is really messing up my ability to use my computer. I have read that I should not disable this program but I feel I need to and thought I already had Malwarebytes.

Also Norton Online Backup and PC Checkup are showing up in my programs and since I quit using it many years ago it should not be there. And now Malwarebytes is nowhere to be found and since I can’t get to my search window I can’t try and find it. I had to work hard at getting the side menu to come out and did a search for it and all I got was a picture of the program. I hate to have to take it to the tech because that will cost me a bundle. I feel very screwed right now.

When you install Norton, it should disable Windows Defender.

You don’t required to do anything.

If it won’t disable Windows Defender, you might not using the latest version.

You should contact with Norton support and get help from them.

The ideal configuration would include Windows Defender running alongside Norton in its Limited Periodic Scanning (on-demand) mode, as a second line of defense:

But if Windows Defender is running with its real-time protection enabled, then in order to have the option for enabling Limited Periodic Scanning, you’ll first need to get Norton properly registered as the Windows antivirus provider. You might be able to do that by simply turning off Norton’s protection and then turning it back on again, as reported in this old discussion thread:

But otherwise, you’ll need to uninstall and then reinstall Norton in order to get it properly registered with the Security Center, and thus disable Windows Defender – which will then allow you to turn on Defender’s Limited Periodic Scanning.

If you don’t want to use Defender for backup protection, then you can just disable it with Group Policy.

Type “cmd” in the search box; and then right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

And then copy, paste, and enter this command:

REG ADD «HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender» /v DisableAntiSpyware /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

The behavior for this Group Policy setting has changed for the current version of Windows 10. The setting won’t be applied until the machine is restarted, and the setting won’t be properly recognized in the Windows Defender Security Center app – although the status will be correctly reported if you try to start the Windows Defender Antivirus app.
