Last week I installed two servers, both are installed with Windows Server 2008 R2. On SERVER01 I installed ADDS with a .local domainname, the Remote Desktop Gateway and Remote Desktop Web Access. On SERVER02 I installed the Remote Desktop Session Host and the Remote Desktop App Manager. The Remote Apps (installed on SERVER02) are available throught the RD Gateway and RD Web Access (installed on SERVER01). Every seems to be working fine, but still i’m getting SSL Certificate errors when I login from outside the domain and SSO isn’t working. This is caused by self-signed certificates installed for signing Remote Apps and for the Remote App server itself. I have purchased two certificates of trusted publishers . Because I’m using an internal domain name, I created an additional Forward Lookup Zone configured with the external domainname. The first certificate is installed on SERVER01, the second I want to use for SERVER02. In the DNS I created two CNAME records, one for SERVER01 and the second for SERVER02. On SERVER02 under RemoteApp Manger > Digital Signature Settings I selected the new certificate. On SERVER02 under RD Session Host Server Settings I changed the servername to the CNAME (sub.domein.com) instead of the FQDN from the server.
