What’s changing and why?

Autodesk is constantly striving to deliver great software for people who make things. To ensure we are delivering at our best, we periodically review our portfolio to determine where to focus our energy and resources to best meet our customers’ needs. So we can focus on more modern collaboration tools, we are discontinuing the A360 Desktop application on June 19, 2018.

What does this mean for me?

A360 Desktop is responsible for synchronizing data on your desktop with A360 Drive online. If you are not running A360 Desktop, or syncing files with A360 Drive, this discontinuation will not affect you, and you have no action to take. You can determine if A360 Desktop is running on your system by checking for the icon in your Windows or Mac system tray.

If you are using A360 Desktop, you will receive desktop notifications 2 weeks prior to the retirement date. After retirement, your data will remain available online in A360 Drive , but it will no longer be synchronized with your desktop.

We will update this page with any changes to the plan.

I don’t use A360 Desktop, or sync files with A360 Drive. How can I prevent A360 Desktop from running in Windows, and stop expiration notifications?

• The recommended way to stop A360 Desktop from running is to remove it from your start up programs.
  • Windows Users: In the system tray, right click on the A360 Desktop icon and click on “Preferences…”. Under “Application” uncheck “Start A360 Desktop when I log on to Windows”. This will disable the A360 Drive Desktop component from starting up when you start your computer. A restart is needed — if you do not restart your computer the sync component will still be running and syncing files.
  • Mac Users: In System Preferences, Users and Groups, select your name, check “A360 Desktop”, and click on the “-“ symbol below. Restart you Mac for the change to take effect.

Autodesk A360 is a cloud-based workspace that centralizes, connects and organizes your team and project information across your desktop, the web, and mobile devices.

Autodesk recommends that you update to most recent version of A360 desktop to take advantage of the latest performance enhancements and bug fixes. A360 Desktop is currently supported on Mac and Microsoft Windows 7 and above.

To identify your current version of A360 desktop on Windows, ensure that A360 desktop is running and you are signed in;

• Right-click on the A360 desktop icon in the system tray. Select «Preferences» to see the version number. If you are running version 5.0 and above, you should be receiving notification updates via Live Update.

Note: Versions below 5.0 are no longer supported and should be uninstalled or updated.

Note: If A360 Desktop is already installed on your machine, you don’t need to uninstall it and then install new version. Instead, you should upgrade either through live update or by installing the new version on top of the older one.

Ensure you close all applications before installing and restart your machine after installing. Be sure to install the correct update (32-bit or 64-bit) for your operating system.
