Amd radeon windows server 2016

Устанавливаю windows server 2016-2019 datacentr — не обнаруживает видеокарту radeon rx470 — в диспетчере устройств отображается только базовый видеоадаптер microsoft

пробовал две карты MSI и ASUS — обе не находит

Пробовал последние драйвера — пишет что неизвестное устройство AMD

Устанавливаю windows 10 — драйвера автоматически встают

Как быть с драйверами на серверную ОС. ? Подскажите, пожалуйста.

Так же как это было с незапамятных времен: загружайте драйвер с сайта производителя в ручную и ставите его. Драйвера может и не быть так как «бытовые» карты в сервер обычно не ставят (а ставят что то вроде FirePro или Quadro). Однако типично на 2016/2019 нормально работают драйверы для Windows 10.

Конечно это следует делать только в том случае если он реально требуется, иначе надо оставить куда более простой и надежный драйвер базового адаптера.

Скачиваю драйвер для win 10 x64 с сайта производителя для своей карты — пробую установить — пишет что неизвестное устройство AMD.

Тут несколько вариантов:

1. Неисправен сервер и карта неверно определяется установщиком драйвера или имеется какой то конфликт. Меняем сервер на исправный, проверяем hardware id.

2. Карта категорически не поддерживается производителем на данной ОС. Обращаемся в поддержку AMD за разъяснениями.

3. Какая то ошибка в установщике которая не определяет карту. Обращаемся в поддержку AMD за разъяснениями, распаковываем драйвер и пробуем установить через INF файл.

4. Меняем карту на другую поддержка которой на Server официально заявлена.

Возможно так же поступили другие поставщики видеоподсистем.

Либо раскошелится на Tesla V100, либо устанавливать продукцию более лояльных поставщиков видео подсистем

— распакуйте скаченный драйвер в папку
— правый клик на видео-карте в диспетчере задач — обновить драйвер
— выбрать «искать на моём компьютере» (или как там по-русски будет. )

Это не поможет, если поставщик Запретил использование данной модели на серверных ос, серверах, дата центрах. ТС Начните с прочтения EULA поставщика видеокарты и ПО поставляемого с ней

Вот Вы и читайте. По приведённой Вами ссылки запрета на установку на серверные ОС нет. Есть запрет на использование в Датацентрах.

Вот Вы и читайте. По приведённой Вами ссылки запрета на установку на серверные ОС нет. Есть запрет на использование в Датацентрах.

ТС не уточнил что за сервер и где он находится. В этом случае возможно к тс применим данный запрет.

Данная видеокарта не поддерживает серверные ос, даже если тс каким либо способом установить драйверы на серверную ос — данное решение не будет поддерживаемым ни со стороны поставщика видеокарты, ни со стороны поставщика ос

First off, Yes I know AMD Drivers are Not Supported on Windows serve

how ever. having the ability to install win10 x64 drivers on server 2016 minimal would do a hole lot of good regardless if its supported or not.

Could the AMD team not block the driver install ,

I personally have Win Server 2016 Essentials in my house used for file sharing, Vmware, Web page hosting, game server hosting and I also need the use of GFX card to handle video processing, rendering, and compiling. which is why I personally need «minimal» Driver install , (settings app would also be nice) (I also do some gaming on it directly when my main gaming rig is in use.)

Im stuck on 17.7.2 because its the last version that didn’t block the install and it works and all but its also outdate by a lot. If I knowen AMD blocked the driver install I would have bought a NV 1050ti over the MSI RX 560 Nitro (4gig) solely because of drivers.. (my server requires a GPU due to the fact there zero integrated video, due to being Xeon cpu). So it was either 1 or the other at 75watt or lower is what I was stuck with in chooses..

Trying to install the driver manual via device manager or forcing the .inf/.ini file to install dose not work on the newest driver ether..

once again I know its not support.. which is fine. but don’t block users from install driver anyways. if it mucks up the users machine that’s entirely on them.. and I personally can deal with that.

We are installing Radeon drivers on Windows 2016. We have used Windows 10 x64 driver package.

Card: Sapphire AMD RX 480 8GB

OS: Windows 2016 server x64.

When performing installation, driver installer says that is unable to locate a valid hardware. However, we can install manually via device manager providing a «Have a disk» driver pointing to drivers folder. However, this does not install all required apps (for example control panel).

P.D: On Windows 2012 R2 with Windows 8.1 driver package (x64) there is no problem.

These products are not supported under Windows Server 2016.

The only supported OS’s are 64 bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

Yes, OK, I understand.

However you have to take into consideration that due to licensing restrictions you cannot use desktop OS (Win 10, 8 or 7) to provide accelerated GPU applications remotely. This is a restriction imposed by Microsoft at EULA.

And since Windows 2012 R2 runs perfectly with Windows 8.1 drivers, I don’t understand why installer restricts Windows 10 driver installation into Windows Server 2016. It’s only a matter to include and extra «case» in installer code flow. In fact, drivers install properly from Device Manager, but not additional apps.

Part of driver Q & A involves testing on the supported operating systems. The install code verifies the OS being used. So while a manual INF install may work. there is no way to get the rest of the software components working on a non supported OS.

— How do I install manually software components from driver packages in unsupported operating systems (ex: Windows Server 2016)?

I have installed Crimson before on Server 2016 despite the install code verification many times with no tricks or workarounds needed, not sure what changed with 17.3.3 or MSUpdate. That said- i’m in the same boat but with a slightly different situation.

After attempting to upgrade to Crimson-ReLive-17.3.3 I encountered the exact same issue you are having. All previous versions of Crimson have installed flawlessly for me even while being on an ‘unsupported’ operating system. I’ve run DDU in safemode, toggled crossfire on and off through BIOS, tried one card, permissions are not of issue (running everything under administrator since I’m using Serv2016); none of the tricks used in the past experiences with driver are working.

I can’t say for sure but either the new Crimson setup is more verbose in how it checks for OS dependencies/reqs, or one of the new Microsoft Updates messed with the build # which isn’t allowing AMD installer to run now (ERR 182). Digging around and attempting to install older version of Crimson have resulted in the same error, which makes me think this is more likely a side-effect from an MS update.

I’ve been running Server 2016 for the past few months and have successfully installed many version of Crimson, so I am also stuck as to why it doesn’t work now.

[Lastly, yes force installing the drivers works just fine but obviously we lose a lot of features/functions necessary for gaming without Crimson]
